Wakefern makes 2 exec appointments

Wakefern Food named a new chief merchandising officer and made an appointment to the position of chief customer officer.

Coming from time spent in charge of assortment and strategy at Save A Lot, Bryant Harris will now serve as the chief merchandising officer for Wakefern, overseeing product procurement strategy, in-store merchandising, pricing and promotion. Harris also spent time working at Walmart and its subsidiary, Sam’s Club, where he helped lead Sam’s Club’s fresh foods division.

Harris will work alongside Steve Henig, who was promoted to chief customer officer, Wakefern Food. Henig has spent more than 30 years with the company, serving in various procurement positions. He most recently held the position of vice president, digital commerce and analytics, working with e-commerce programs.

As chief customer officer, Henig will look to build a single, consistent brand voice for Wakefern customers through branding, e-commerce, marketing and advertising initiatives.
