Walmart is opening a fourth freestanding facility devoted to health-and-wellness.
The new Walmart Health is the first store in the format to be opened outside of Georgia. Located in Northwest Arkansas adjacent to an existing Walmart Supercenter in Springdale, Ark., the latest Walmart Health is a prototype of a smaller-footprint store than the other three facilities.
The format, which debuted in September 2019 in Dallas, Georgia, features an array of primary and urgent care, dental, hearing and counseling services, and promises low and transparent pricing regardless of insurance services. Additionally, Walmart Health plans to add dental services starting in July.
A second Walmart Health location opened in January, in Calhoun, Georgia, while a third facility opened earlier in June in Loganville, Georgia.
The newest Walmart Health store also went through a remodel, including the launch of new vision center and pharmacy concepts that were designed with feedback integrated from thousands of customers to focus on convenience, simplicity and elevated service. Other redesigned departments in the store include a state-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays and a refreshed baby department with strollers at floor-level, giving shoppers the ability to compare products more closely.
“This is our first Walmart Health prototype outside of Georgia, and we’re excited to continue our history of innovation that has transformed the industry and created significant health care savings for customers,” Sean Slovenski, senior VP and president of Walmart U.S. Health and Wellness said. “We’re looking forward to bringing affordability and convenience to the Springdale community and continue our focus on a solution to the current state of health care by offering affordable integrated care that our customers want and deserve.”
Walmart operates approximately 11,500 stores under 56 banners in 27 countries and e-commerce websites.
