Banza rolls out chickpea crust pizza
Pizza crusts as we know it are changing.
Banza is the latest company to put its own spin on the food by debuting a new line of pizzas made with a chickpea crust.
“Chickpeas are one of the most nutrient-dense and environmentally-friendly foods available, yet we consume far less of them than we should,” Brian Rudolph, CEO and co-founder of Banza said. “At Banza, we’re demonstrating the versatility of the ingredient and increasing consumption by using them to upgrade some of America’s favorite foods — pasta, rice and now, pizza.”
Featuring such ingredients as chickpeas, olive oil, yeast and oregano, Banza’s pizza collection is available in three varieties — four cheese, roasted veggie and Margherita.
Banza Pizza, retailing for $8.99, is now available at such retailers as Target, Whole Foods Market, Wegmans and Heinen’s, as well as online at Amazon.com and EatBanza.com.
