CCA Industries 'pleased' with Q1 results

4/17/2015

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — CCA Industries, whose brands include Plus+White, Bikini Zone and Nutra Nail, swung to a profit during the first quarter.

Net sales increased 14.6% to $7 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2015 from $6.07 million the prior year first quarter. Net sales of each of CCA's core brands increased during the first three months of fiscal 2015 versus the comparable period in the prior year.

"We are pleased with our first quarter business results, however we are cognizant that our niche brands compete in highly competitive categories and will continue to require the backing of smart marketing and advertising programs to deliver sustainable profitable growth. We are committed to doing just that in the months ahead,” stated Richard Kornhauser, CEO and president.

Income from operations increased $1.8 million to a profit of $98,596 in the first quarter of 2015 versus an operating loss of $1.7 million reported for the first quarter of fiscal 2014. Earnings per share, on a fully diluted basis, were 1 cent from continuing operations versus a loss of 15 cents in the prior year first quarter.
