NEW YORK — Skincare company eos, known for its egg-shaped lip balm, announced recently that it reached a settlement with OraLabs, a private-label manufacturer that had been selling off-brand egg-shaped lip balm. OraLabs has agreed to stop selling and manufacturing products that incorporate eos’ egg shape design or patented packaging
The settlement comes after eos and parent company The Kind Group filed two lawsuits in district courts in Colorado and one in Delaware, both of which the company has now dismissed. OraLabs’ Chinese packaging manufacturer has agreed to stop manufacturing the imitations, and retailers will destroy their inventory of imitative OraLabs products in the coming months.
