Makers of CeraVe to sponsor USA Swimming

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Coria Laboratories, a division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America, has signed on as the exclusive skin care sponsor of the USA Swimming from 2010 to 2013 to help it increase consumer brand awareness of its CeraVe skin care brand.

The four-year deal represents the first venture into sports sponsorship by the Fort Worth-based company. The sponsorship includes patent-themed content on USA Swimming's official Web site, sampling of CeraVe products at many of the USA Swimming's 6,800-sanctioned swim meets, access to major USA Swimming events and advertising on USA Swimming?s wholly owned Web site, Swimnetwork.com.

A television commercial for CeraVe will debut as part of the NBC broadcast of the 2009 AT&T Short Course National Championships and the 2009 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool.

CeraVe products are designed to help treat skin conditions like dry skin, which is common among swimmers exposed to the effects of weather, water and chlorine. CeraVe is the only skin care line with patented Multivesicular Emulsion delivery technology that was previously only available in a prescription formulation, according to the company.
