MinuteClinic looks to offer beauty services

1/22/2015

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — It is no secret that CVS Health’s MinuteClinic is on a growth path, and it appears that the clinic operator is looking to expand beyond acute and chronic care with the testing of some beauty services.

As revealed by Helena Foulkes, EVP and president of CVS/pharmacy, during the company’s Annual Analyst Day in December, the company is leveraging its MinuteClinic locations to offer, for example, eyelash lengthening consultations and services.

The move is in line with the company’s ongoing effort to position itself as a health and beauty destination and deliver a better in-store experience.

MinuteClinic isn’t the only clinic operator with an interest in beauty services. Clinic operator RediClinic — which operates about 30 in-store clinics inside H-E-B grocery stores in Houston, Austin and San Antonio — offers cosmetics services. At RediClinic, patients can receive consultations on Latisse lash growth treatment, Lustra for skin discolorations and Vaniqa for unwanted facial hair on women.
