Murad Inc. introduces new skin repair serum

2/4/2009

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Murad Inc., which was founded in 1989 by Howard Murad, M.D. and sells its skin care brand at several retail locations such as Sephora and Ulta, has introduced the new Sleep Reform Serum and Supplements.

The products are designed to help the body and skin “sleep” by using Repair Enhancing Matrix (REM). Developed to increase the depth and duration of restorative sleep, it helps accelerate and optimize the skin’s repair cycle while providing antioxidant protection to shield cells from further damage.

REM complex is comprised of three actives—gamma-aminobutyric acid for encouraging muscle relaxation, methylsulfonylmethane, a sulfur donor for enhancing penetration and reducing inflammation, and vitamin C and its derivatives. This complex, coupled with melatonin in Sleep Reform, promises to induce an anti-stress effect that relaxes skin tension and reduces wrinkles, according to the company.

Applying Murad’s internal/external approach to skin care, the Sleep Reform system is comprised of two tiers:

•  Sleep Reform Serum: A night treatment that is designed to improve skin’s beauty sleep. The product is priced at $97 for 1 ounce. •  Sleep Reform Supplements: Provides ingredients, including melatonin, that promise to improve the ease with which one falls asleep, and helps to reduce nighttime disturbances. The supplements are priced at $49.50 for 60 tablets.
