New eos Crystal brings clear, wax-free lip balm to shelves

NEW YORK — Lip care company eos, known for its Organic Sphere lip balms, is bringing a new reinvention to the category. The company has launched Crystal, its wax-free and transparent lip balm with nourishing oils for hydration. 

 

"We strive to continually elevate the lip care category," eos VP Marketing Nancy Chan said.  “Crystal's wax-free formula, rich in pure nourishing oils, is the biggest lip care breakthrough since the launch of our original sphere. It provides consumers with an alternative sensorial experience that offers lip hydration without the heaviness of beeswax or mineral oils.  Crystal's weightless hydration represents the next generation of lip care.”

 

The jewel-inspired product’s formula includes shea butter and such botanically sourced oils as coconut, avocado, sunflower, castor seed and aloe oils. The wax-free formulation still offers hydration comparable to the company’s signature lip balms, eos said. 

 

 “We have done rigorous testing on Crystal and we've created an exceptional formula," eos EVP research and development Dr. Mike Wong said. “We sought out the highest quality natural and organic oils and after years of development, the final product delivers superlative hydration without any heavy feeling on the lips.”

 

The product will be packaged in a pyramidal package and the spheres will have a pearlized finish to elevate it. It’s available in hibiscus peach and vanilla orchid flavors. Crystal also is vegan. It will be sold in all major retailers that sell eos products, including Walgreens, Walmart, Target, and Ulta Beauty, among others.
