Revlon Run/Walk to be held Mother’s Day weekend
NEW YORK The 15th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk for Women will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Mother’s Day weekend on May 10.
The fundraiser event for women’s cancers was launched in 1993 through the combined efforts of Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman and EIF. Since inception, nearly $50 million in grants have been made from the combined events in Los Angeles and New York. The New York Run/Walk is slated for May 3.
Joining the expected 50,000 participants for the 2008 Los Angeles Run/Walk is actor Tom Selleck, “Dancing with the Stars” star Carrie Ann Inaba, and Revlon celebrity brand ambassadors actress Halle Berry and actress Beau Garrett. The Go-Go’s will perform live at the post celebration concert.
Proceeds from the past EIF Revlon Run/Walks have funded research, contributing to the development of the gene treatment Herceptin, as well as other targeted therapies. Monies raised have also helped numerous organizations in providing education, advocacy and outreach services to those affected by women’s cancers.
