Vaseline Intensive Rescue seeks to end dry skin

11/22/2010

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. Vaseline Intensive Rescue, a Unilever brand, is on a mission to rescue dry skin this winter by sending out the Dry Skin Patrol team.

The team is comprised of real women who know what it's like to have dry skin and is charged with putting their skin and lotion to the test at some of the country's harshest winter activities for skin. Serving as the team's leader is Wendie Malick, an actress and star of TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland."

Vaseline Intensive Rescue, a line of therapeutic body lotions, found the women blogging about their dry skin online and sent them the product. Now, the brand has rallied the group to become ambassadors for their mission to deliver 1 million good skin days by the end of the winter season. The Dry Skin Patrol members will get face-to-face with some brutal dry-skin torture tests, including the:

  • Philadelphia Marathon;

  • Aspen Winternational;

  • Coney Island Polar Bear Plunge; and

  • John Beargrease Dog Sled Marathon.

At each event, Vaseline will give out free samples and offer skin care advice. All of the samples distributed will count toward Vaseline's goal of delivering 1 million good skin days this winter.
