Califia Farms adds plant-based butter to roster

Califia Farms is welcoming a brand-new collection of plant-based butter to its lineup.

Created as an alternative to dairy butter, the brand’s new launch can be used in cooking and baking recipes, as well as spread over a piece of toast or any other food, the company said.

“With people of all generations — especially Gen Z — eating more plant-based foods, now is the perfect time to introduce more delicious, plant-based options that fit seamlessly into their lifestyle. Our plant butters spread, melt and bake just like dairy butter, but have a clean label and high quality ingredients,” Suzanne Ginestro, chief marketing officer at Califia Farms said. “We will continue to innovate and introduce products that are better for people and the planet.”

Made with cashews, the butters also contain avocado and olive oils, as well as cultures and nutritional yeast, are churned longer and do not contain canola or palm oil, trans fats, soy lactose or GMOs, the company said.

Retailing for $4.99 per 8-oz. tub, Califia Farms’ plant butters are available for purchase at Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Stop & Shop, and Target among other natural and major retailers.
