Carvel’s ice cream cake adds cookie dough twist

There’s a new ice cream cake from Carvel hitting the freezer aisle.

The brand announced the launch of its new cookie dough ice cream cake.

Featuring chunks of cookie dough pieces, the cake also contains vanilla and chocolate ice cream, its signature chocolate crunchies, a whipped topping and chocolate drizzle.

“Whether it was at a birthday party or in line at an ice cream shop, we’ve all made memories enjoying two of life's best desserts, ice cream and cake,” Kimberly O’Brien, the shopper marketing manager for Rich Products’ in-store bakery and deli division said. “The past year, more people have purchased ice cream cakes than ever before and this cookie dough flavor gives cake lovers a nostalgic treat to enjoy for dessert, a reward or just a small moment of happiness.”

Also containing a border of chocolate chips and cookie dough pieces, Carvel’s cookie dough ice cream cake serves six and currently retails for $14.99.

Shoppers can find the ice cream cake at such major retailers as Food Lion, Shop Rite, Publix, Wegmans, Stop & Shop, Giant Food Stores and Kroger among others.
