Almond Breeze dives into the yogurt game

5/20/2019
Blue Diamond, the parent company behind Almond Breeze, unveiled the brand’s latest innovation.

The brand is diving into the yogurt space by introducing its new Almond Breeze Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative, which is plant-based and comes either by itself or paired with Blue Diamond almond toppings.

Each of the additional toppings is made with California-grown almonds and such ingredients as granola or chocolate chips, and free of such allergens as lactose and soy, the Sacramento, Calif.-based company said.

“Consumers are seeking more delicious plant-based foods. We believe our yogurt, made from Almond Breeze almondmilk, is the perfect way to satisfy the need for tasty plant-based options. We developed single-serve sidecar cups that pair the deliciously creamy Almond Breeze Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative with the crunchy goodness of Blue Diamond almonds and other toppings to bring innovation to the growing plant-based yogurt space. Dairy-free can be exciting, and that’s exactly what we’ve created here,” Suzanne Hagener, the director of brand marketing for Blue Diamond said.

A 5.3-oz. single serve container includes a serving of vanilla-flavored Almond Breeze Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative, and the topping options of toasted almonds, honey roasted almonds and granola, chocolate almonds and chocolate chips, coconut almonds and chocolate chips, blueberry almonds and oat clusters, and sea salt caramel and pretzel.

In addition, the Almond Breeze Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative is available in a 24-oz. size without toppings in either the original or vanilla flavor options.

The product will hit Northeast grocers throughout May.
