Alter Eco, a brand that looks to provide chocolate-centric, sustainability-directed food to consumers is entering the snack category by launching Dark Chocolate Coconut Clusters.
The products are organic and fair-trade snacks, with five grams of sugar per serving, the company said. Each Dark Chocolate Coconut Cluster contains the brand’s 70% Ecuadorian chocolate with coconut flakes substantially harvested from whole coconuts that are sliced and toasted.
“Our new Dark Chocolate Coconut Clusters mark an exciting milestone for Alter Eco,” Edouard Rollet, co-CEO and co-founder at Alter Eco, said. “Forty-six percent of Americans snack more than three times a day, and that number is expected to surge in the next five years. We saw an opportunity to fill a void in the snack aisle and pave the way for a next-level enlightened indulgence – one that’s filled with sustainable, superior ingredients and mind-blowingly delicious flavor.”
The three new flavors are:
Original – contains five grams of sugar, a sweet-and-salty flavor sprinkled with sea salt and dark chocolate;
Seeds + Salt – contains dark chocolate treat baked with roasty-toasty crisp pumpkin, sunflower seeds and five grams of sugar; and
Cherry + Almond Butter – contains tangy-sweet cherries, dollops of creamy almond butter unite with rich dark chocolate and six grams of sugar.
Alter Eco Dark Chocolate Coconut Clusters are now available for purchase online and in select retail stores which include National Co+op Grocers, Natural Grocers Vitamin Cottage, Hy-Vee and H-E-B stores. A 3.2-oz. pouch of the product can be purchased for the suggested retail price of $4.79.
