12/12/2013

SEATTLE — Some orders placed on Amazon's online wine store will be eligible for 1-cent shipping, the company said Thursday.

Amazon said more than 100 wine sellers had opted into the new program and would offer more than 1,000 labels of wine under it, and the company plans to increase the selection in the near future.

Participating wineries include Tudor Wines, Raymond Vineyards, Zaca Mesa Winery, Pellet Estate and Pepper Brudge Winery. The program is available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Wyoming and the District of Columbia.

"Offering Amazon customers 1-cent shipping is a great opportunity to get Tudor Wines in front of a large number of holiday shoppers," Tudor Wines winemaker Dan Tudor said. "Amazon is one of the largest and strongest online shopping sites with an incredible brand reputation, and we view the Amazon Wine store as an extension of our e-commerce business."
