Anheuser-Busch cookbook features recipes and beer pairings

12/5/2007

ST. LOUIS For those who can’t think of a meal that goes well with a refreshing glass of beer, Anheuser-Busch has a cookbook to solve that problem. The Anheuser-Busch Cookbook: Great Food Great Beer features 185 recipes for pairing beer with food.

The company worked with master chefs to explore innovative ways to combine great beer with great food. The recipes in the book range from appetizers to desserts, with every single recipe selected because it goes great with beer.

“Beer adds pizzazz to any menu and with Great Food Great Beer we want to help provide culinary enthusiasts with a fun, creative twist when preparing dishes,” said Brent Wertz, executive chef at Anheuser-Busch’s Kingsmill Resort & Spa and the spokesperson for Great Food Great Beer. ”As detailed in the book, beer should be paired carefully with the right dish to bring out the best of both.”

Each recipe is paired with a type of beer—an American-style premium lager, a European-style pilsner, an English-style pale ale, or a dry stout—as recommended by an Anheuser-Busch brewmaster. The book, which sells for $24.95, also provides overall tips on how to pair beer and food, as well as a number of recipes that call for beer as a key ingredient, a comprehensive guide to beers and creative menu suggestions.

The book is available online at www.budshop.com, at select club stores now and will be available in most national book and supermarket retailers in January 2008.
