Bare announces line of coconut chips

2/27/2014

SAN FRANCISCO — Bare, a snack company, has introduced its All Natural Crunch Coconut Chips, which are crafted from Nam Hom coconuts grown in Thailand's Central Plains.

The chips will come in five varieties — Simply Toasted, Show Me the Honey, Sweet ‘n Heat, Chocolate Bliss and Sea Salt Caramel — and are expected to appear on store shelves beginning June 2014. Bare will introduce its new line at Natural Products EXPO West, which takes place March 6 to 9 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

“The coconut trend is hot and here to stay,” said Brad Oberwager, CEO of Bare. “We’ve seen strong consumer demand for coconut water, coconut oil and all things coconut for several years now, and our new Coconut Chips deliver a whole new way for consumers to snack on coconut. We start with fresh coconuts, which are well known for their unique, tropical flavor and inherent nutrition. We crack, slice and bake them to perfection, while adding unique and delicious seasonings to create a range of unforgettable snacks.”

Bare snacks are made with seven ingredients or less, contain no preservatives and are gluten-free and non-GMO. The suggested retail price is $1.99-$2.49 for a 1.4-oz. bag.
