CHICAGO Just days after announcing the launch of new tropical flavors before the summer is officially over, the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. announced Wednesday that it is expanding its Extra gum brand by launching its new sugar free Supermint flavor, and improving the flavor of two other versions of the gum.
"Extra chewers enjoy variety and this brand offers a wealth of flavors that provide long-lasting chewing enjoyment," said Paul Chibe, vice president of U.S. Marketing. "We believe the launch of supermint, as well as the improvements to peppermint and spearmint, will generate continued excitement around the Extra brand."
According to AC Nielsen reports, 60 percent of total U.S. gum sales are generated from mint-flavored gum.
The new supermint flavor is set to hit shelves nationwide this fall.
