Chipwich makes its return in time for summer

6/1/2018
After disappearing from shelves for seven years, Chipwich has decided to make its triumphant return — just in time for summer.

The ice cream cookie sandwich, which is part of the Crave Better Foods portfolio, is returning with ingredients that include all-natural cookies, real chocolate chips and premium ice cream, the Cos Cob, Conn.-based company said.

“Despite its seven-year absence, there remains great affection for the Original Chipwich brand,” David Clarke, CEO of Crave Better Foods, said. “We made good on those memories by bringing back Chipwich with the best possible ingredients. At a time when many novelties rely on over-processed, cheaper ingredients, Chipwich lets consumers enjoy something real that is both nostalgic and on-trend.”

At the height of its popularity the treat was named one of the top 10 iconic snacks in America by Time Magazine before vanishing in 2011, the company said.

The newly revamped frozen treat comes with vanilla ice cream that’s sandwiched between two chewy chocolate chunk cookies that are rolled in chocolate chips.

Chipwich is available in a three-sandwich multipack that retails for $4.99 or individually wrapped package for $1.99, with a serving size of 4.25 fl.-oz. It can be found in such retailers as Acme, Jewel Osco, Fairway, Shop Rite, Wegmans and more.
