Chobani gives a boost to Team USA on the journey to Sochi

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. – Chobani, a Greek yogurt brand, will help six members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams power up as they make the journey to the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.


The six athletes that make up Team Chobani are Lindsey Jacobellis (Snowboard Cross), Allison Jones (Para Cycling), Hannah Kearney (Mogul Skiing), Zach Parise (Ice Hockey), Rico Roman (Sled Hockey), and Evan Strong (Para-Snowboard Cross). They were hand-picked for their strong work ethic and perserverance admirable qualities that make them a great match for Chobani.


“Our approach is not out of the typical corporate play book – we're truly honored to support these amazing athletes given that they, like us, understand and embrace the importance of never cutting corners and having a genuine dedication to doing things the right way. It’s how they train, and it's how we craft each and every cup of Chobani,” said Peter McGuinness, Chobani’s chief marketing and brand officer.


As the athletes embark on the final 100 days leading up to the competition, it's essential now more than ever that they properly fuel up so they can perform their best.


“The nutrition profile of Chobani Greek Yogurt – with the combination of protein, carbohydrates and calcium – is ideal for athletes,” said Susie Parker-Simmons, senior sport dietitian for the U.S. Olympic Committee. 


As part of the Road to Sochi tour, Chobani will be delivering full-size samples across the United States leading up to the big event. They'll kick off with a celebration on Oct. 29 in New York City's Times Square.
