Edy's, Dreyer's introduce new line of frozen bars

OAKLAND, Calif. — Nestlé has announced that its Edy's Outshine and Dreyer's Outshine brands will launch a line of frozen fruit and vegetable bars nationally.



Both Dreyer's Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars and Edy's Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars will feature five flavors — Blueberry Medley, Tangerine Carrot, Apple and Greens, Peach Mango Medley and Strawberry Rhubarb — and also will come in the form of a 12-count multi-pack featuring Strawberry Rhubarb, Tangerine Carrot and Blueberry Medley. The bars contain 35 to 60 calories each, with at least 25% vegetables from purees and juices.

"We wanted to add a unique twist to our namesake fruit bars with fruit and vegetable combinations in delicious, complementary flavors," said Kerry Hopkins, Outshine brand manager. "By adding vegetables to our recipes in this new line, we have created distinct flavor profiles that are a tasty way to include vegetables in your diet."



Edy's Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars and Dreyer's Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars will be available nationwide beginning February 2014 for $4.39 per box, which includes six 2.5-oz. bars. The multi-pack includes twelve 1.5-oz. bars per box, and is priced at $4.39 per box.
