Hi-Chew blends sour, sweet together

5/9/2019
Hi-Chew is blending sour and sweet flavors together in its latest launch.

The Irvine, Calif.-based company, which is part of the Morinaga America family, is introducing consumers to its new sweet and sour mix. Popular flavors included in the launch are grapefruit and lemon, as well as the newly introduced watermelon.

Newly launched watermelon offers consumers a burst of flavor that is enhanced when combined with grapefruit and lemon.

In addition, each chew featured in the mix provides a burst of fresh citrus flavors and a hint of sweetness to balance out its flavors, the company said.

"Watermelon is a beloved fruit here in the States and we're excited to reveal our new offering that showcases a delightful, slightly sour twist on the real fruit taste," Tatsuya Takamiya, the chief marketing officer of Morinaga America, said. "As we continue to grow our flavor offerings, we saw a great opportunity for the Sweet & Sour Mix to introduce Watermelon and create a complementary combination of vibrant flavors that Hi-Chew fans love."

Shoppers can find the sweet and sour mix in a 3.17-oz. bag that retails for $2.39, and a 12.7-oz. bag for $5.99, on the shelves of select Walmart and Walgreens locations across the nation.
