Instantly: Purchase intent for ethnic snacks on the rise

LOS ANGELES - CPG brands are diversifying their flavor profiles as consumer interest in ethnic foods increases, noted Instantly in its release of its April edition of the Instantly Shelf Score. Products with the highest purchase intent scores included: Sweet & Spicy Chipotle Wheat Thins (57%); Doritos Salsa Verde (54%); Oscar Mayer Southwest Style Chipotle Dogs (51%); and Wasabi & Soy Sauce Pringles (41%). 


 


And as millennials continue to influence product innovation, CPG brands are also putting new twists on traditional lunch products in an effort to stay relevant, with other items on the list including Goldfish Grahams Honey (70%); Cotton Candy Oreos (49%); and Lunchables with 100% Juice, Turkey & Cheddar Sub Sandwich (55%). 


 


Instantly’s April Shelf Score report is a monthly top 10 list of the new food products on supermarket shelves that consumers are most interested in purchasing. Each new product is evaluated by 300 consumers, who are polled via mobile devices at home or in-store, on key success indicators such as purchase intent, differentiation, need/desire and value.
