Kettle Brand expands territory with two new chip flavors

2/21/2013

SALEM, Ore. — Kettle Brand is pushing boundaries with two new flavors the company said reflects the preferences of the current consumer, the company announced today.

"Over the past 30 years, we've closely tracked trends from around the world, tested thousands of product prototypes and even conducted a national survey on Americans' taste preferences," said Carolyn Ottenheimer, Kettle Brand's chief flavor architect of 13 years. "As with our first-of-its kind Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper in 1999 or Cheddar Beer, one of our first People's Choice chip selections in 2005, these two distinct new flavors embody the preferences of today's consumer and have the potential to become timeless classics."

Expanding on its line of kettle-cooked potato chips, Kettle Brand revealed two new creations: Maple Bacon and Sweet & Salty. Both new flavors have been in development for over nine months, and the final seasoning combinations were selected from hundreds of prototypes. Extensive testing, a hallmark of Kettle Brand's innovation process, ensures each new product has the perfect balance of flavor.

Verified by the Non-GMO Project, both new flavors reflect the company's commitment to delivering chips made with all-natural ingredients, and like all Kettle Brand products, are cooked in pure, all-natural oils.

Kettle Brand Maple Bacon and Sweet & Salty chips will be available in grocery and natural food stores beginning this summer in 5-oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $2.69 and 8.5-oz. bags for an SRP of $3.49.
