Mars announces $1 million Halloween contest

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. Mars Snackfood US is launching a sweepstakes in the period leading up to Halloween that includes a grand price of $1 million, Mars announced Thursday.

The contest, dubbed “The Halloween Million Dollar Contest,” will begin Aug. 15 and last until Halloween. It will include 20,000 prizes in addition to the grand prize and cover seven Mars brands, namely M&M’s, Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Twix, Milky Way, Skittles and Starburst.

Mars launched a similar contest last year that only included M&M’s. It will advertise this year’s contest in print and broadcast media and online.
