Mars VP throws pitch at Red Sox game for good cause

8/10/2011

NEW YORK — On behalf of its Combos brand, which serves as a sponsor of the Boston Red Sox, Mars Chocolate North America executive Tim LeBel threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Red Sox game last week to benefit two charitable causes.

LeBel, who serves as the company's VP sales in-store solutions and grocery/value, threw the first pitch at the Aug. 2 Red Sox game at Fenway Park, which garnered donations for the FACE Foundation and the Lawrence Boys Club. LeBel and Craig Hall, general manager for sustainable snacks at Mars, presented a $5,000 donation to Fred Lynn for the FACE Foundation and $2,500 for the Lawrence Boys Club.

“It was an honor to throw the ceremonial first pitch at legendary Fenway Park,” LeBel said. “But to be able to do so and support two very worthy charities at the same time is really special and I’m thrilled that Combos was able to use its team sponsorship for both of these great causes.”
