McCann's expands Irish oatmeal product lineup

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- McCann’s Irish Oatmeal says it is evolving with consumers' attitudes toward healthy and portable food by adding three new product lines to its portfolio.

“The expansion of McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal product portfolio is our response to the evolving food preferences and needs of consumers,” said Tom Perlstein, director-branded marketing, Bay Valley Foods. “While awareness and demand continue to grow for options like non-GMO or gluten-free foods, there aren’t many of these selections available for steel cut oatmeal.”

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal’s new Gluten-Free option is available in the 28-ounce McCann’s Traditional Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal Tin and McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal (both the 24-ounce canister and 16-ounce box).

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal also has earned its first non-GMO Certification from the Non-GMO Project for three of its core products — Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 28-ounce Tin, Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 24-ounce Canister, and Quick Cooking Rolled Oats in the 16-ounce Box. 

Finally, McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats launched new single serve, on-the-go cups that will be offered in four popular flavors: Maple Brown Sugar, Apple Cinnamon, Vanilla Honey and Original.
