Minute Maid introduces four reduced calorie beverages

1/29/2013

HOUSTON — Starting this week, four new reduced calorie juice drinks from Minute Maid will hit store shelves. These light drinks should help consumers stay on track with their New Year's resolutions.

Minute Maid Pure Squeezed Light No Pulp Orange Juice is one of the new varieties for people seeking a lighter way to enjoy the great taste of orange juice. Never from concentrate, Minute Maid Pure Squeezed Light No Pulp Orange Juice has 50 calories per 8-oz. serving, and 50% less sugar and calories than regular orange juice. This no pulp variety complements the current Minute Maid Pure Squeezed Light Orange Juice with Calcium and Vitamin D that is already in stores.

The three other new juices each boast only 15 calories per 8 fl. oz. serving, which is 85% fewer calories than regular fruit drinks: Minute Maid Light Raspberry Fruit Drink with Tea and Light Peach Fruit Drink with Tea, as well as Chilled Light Mango Passion Fruit Drink, a mix of mango and passion fruit.

“These four new juice drinks were created to offer the great-tasting juice flavor people expect from Minute Maid, but with fewer calories,” said Charles Torrey, VP marketing for Minute Maid Business Unit. “Today people are more conscious about what they’re eating and drinking. They want variety when it comes to both taste and calories. With these new juice drinks, we’re continuing to expand our portfolio to offer great-tasting options to help people meet their individual needs.”

All of the new Minute Maid reduced calorie products are packaged in clear and recyclable 59-oz. PET bottles. The four new products can be found in the chilled section of grocery stores across the United States.
