Nando’s Perinaise spices up traditional mayonnaise

4/3/2019
Nando’s, a popular South African restaurant chain in Europe, has decided to add a bit of heat to traditional mayonnaise in the States.

The restaurant chain, known for its signature Peri-Peri sauce, which has been recognized as the most popular sauce from England to Australia to South Africa, is looking to make a splash in the United States with its new Perinaise sauce, the company said.

The company’s new Perinaise sauce is made with a blend of African bird’s eye chili, sun-ripened lemons, fresh herbs, exotic spices and cage-free eggs.

In addition, the sauce is gluten-free, kosher and made without the use of artificial flavors or colors, the company added.

Nando’s Perinaise will be available in three different flavors and heat levels, which include:

  • Hot, which has a high heat level

  • Original, which has a medium heat level; and

  • Lemon & herb, which carries a mild heat level.

Shoppers can find the company's newly launched sauce on the shelves of such retailers as Kroger, Harris Teeter, Safeway and Amazon beginning in the spring for the suggested retail price of $3.99 each. Further information on the restaurant chain, including locations currently open in the United States, can be found on its website.
