Oscar Mayer debuts new protein packs

MADISON, Wis. — Oscar Mayer, a Kraft Foods Group brand, announced the introduction of the new P3 Portable Protein Pack, which the company designed for active consumers looking for a snack to help get them through the day.



The company says the new protein packs are positioned to become a major item in the protein-snacking category, which has enjoyed growth thanks to consumer desires for protein-filled snacks like Greek yogurt and protein bars. The on-the-go packs are made of three brands: Oscar Mayer Selects Meats, Kraft Natural Cheeses and Planters Nuts.



"Consumers snack three times a day on average, and 75% of adults are looking to add more protein to their diets," said Joe Fragnito, Oscar Mayer VP marketing. "The protein snacking category has a 7% growth rate, but meat is too often an afterthought, with all the yogurt, smoothies, bars and powders on the market. P3 Portable Protein Pack is the ideal product to address this gap in the marketplace."



P3 Portable Protein Packs are free of artificial preservatives and pack at least 13 g of protein and contain little to no sugar. Protein pack varieties include:

•  Applewood Smoked Ham, Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Dry Roasted Almonds

P3 Portable Protein Packs are available nationwide. A single 2-oz. pack retails for $1.79 and a triple, 6-oz. pack carries a retail price of $4.99
