PepsiCo shuffles executives

PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo on Wednesday announced several executive changes at its company, including a new CEO of PepsiCo Beverages Americas.


Frito-Lay North America president and CEO Al Carey was named CEO of the PepsiCo Beverages Americas unit, effective immediately. In his new role, Carey, a 30-year PepsiCo veteran, will be responsible for all aspects of the beverage businesses in the Americas. He will report to PepsiCo chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi.


Meanwhile, the beverage unit's current leader, Massimo d'Amore, will retain responsibility for the North American Gatorade and Tropicana businesses, as well as the Latin American beverage business, and will report to Carey. Additionally, d'Amore will continue to lead the Global Beverages Group as president. In this capacity, he will report to Nooyi.


Succeeding Carey at Frito-Lay North America president is Tom Greco, who most recently served as Pepsi Beverages Co. EVP and chief commercial officer.


"The appointments we've made today reflect the depth of our management bench, the quality of our leaders, and will lead to a seamless transition," Nooyi said.


In related news, PepsiCo also announced the retirement of Pepsi Beverages Co. CEO Eric Foss, effective Dec. 9. Foss has served in this capacity since February 2010.
