Pop-Tarts put new spin on dessert

Beginning in June, there will be not one, but two new sweet ways to indulge those Pop-Tarts cravings.

The Battle Creek, Mich.-based company, which is part of the Kellogg family of brands, announced the launch of two products — frosted chocolate cupcake and frosted confetti cupcake.

"At Pop-Tarts, we love to give fans the flavors they love most, and our research shows that over 50 percent of our fans eat Pop-Tarts as a snack," Joe Beauprez, the director of marketing for Pop-Tarts said. "We reimagined the classic dessert in Pop-Tart from, giving our devoted fans more opportunity to enjoy this delicious, sweet treat any time of the day."

Frosted chocolate cupcake aims to satisfy chocolate cravings, while frosted confetti cupcake — which was last on shelves in June 2017 — is the brand’s second most-requested flavor. In addition, both prosucts can be enjoyed either for breakfast or a snack, and can be eaten cold or toasted, the company said.

Shoppers can find both varieties on the shelves of retail locations nationwide beginning in June. In the meantime, the brand wants consumers to share how they are going to eat both of the new flavors on social media by using the #PopTartsCupcake hashtag on social media.
