Quaker launches protein snack bars geared towards health-minded moms

7/29/2008

CHICAGO Quaker has released new Chewy Granola Bars with Protein, combining protein with whole grains in every serving. The company said that the new chewy snack bars will appeal to moms who look out for their families’ diets.

Chewy Granola Bars with Protein come in two flavors: nutty peanut butter and peanut butter and chocolate. The snack bars provide as much protein as a 4-oz. container of yogurt, the company said. They also contain 5 grams of protein, 1 gram of fiber, no trans fat and no cholesterol.

Pediatrician and mother of three, Dr. Dr. Laura Jana said, “Protein plays an important role in children’s growth and development, helps kids feel full longer, and is a key component in any well-balanced diet. Yet all too often, in this day and age of fast food and picky eaters, protein is overlooked; convenient snacks like the new Quaker Chewy Granola Bars with Protein can provide families with an appealing option.”

The new Quaker Chewy Granola Bars with Protein can be purchased at grocery stores and super stores across the United States. They retail for about $3.19 per box of eight.
