SC Johnson receives Green Power Leadership Award from EPA
RACINE, Wis. — SC Johnson was honored by the Environmental Protection Agency for its commitment and contribution to the advancement of the nation's voluntary green power market.
The company said it was recognized with the 2011 Green Power Leadership Award. The award honors EPA Green Power Partners that distinguish themselves using on-site renewable energy applications, such as solar photovoltaic or landfill gas.
"SC Johnson has long been committed to reducing its environmental footprint, which makes it such an honor to be recognized by the EPA for our use of renewable energy," SC Johnson chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson said. "Using alternate energy sources such as co-generation, wind energy and even biofuels like palm shells has enabled us to make a measurable impact. We've reduced greenhouse gases nearly 32% in the last decade and we'll continue to push the needle."
