Siggi’s yogurt goes back to basics

8/1/2018
Siggi’s, the maker of Icelandic yogurt, announced its latest innovation that features simple ingredients.

The New York City-based company’s new simple sides product brings whole-milk yogurt and simple, no-added sugar add-ins together for a new taste.

Flavors include vanilla yogurt with dried coconut and cacao nibs; honey yogurt with dried figs and walnuts; vanilla yogurt with almonds and dried cherries; and plain yogurt with muesli and currants.

“Our mission has always been to provide yogurts that are lower in sugar, have a simple ingredient list and taste great,” Siggi Hilmarsson, founder of Siggi's, said. “This new launch follows the same philosophy. Yogurt with crunchy, tasty toppings as a side has become a popular snack among consumers in recent years. However, many of those offerings are sadly more comparable to sugary treats than wholesome snacks. Siggi's simple sides combine some of our classic yogurt flavors with simple toppings like dried fruit, nuts and coconut. All these toppings are made without any added sugar.”

Each of the brand’s new varieties contains 15 g of protein and 11 g of sugar per 5.3-oz. servings, the company said.

Siggi’s simple sides retail for $1.99 each.
