SkinnyPizza, a brand best-known for its build your own pizza shops, has made its debut in the freezer aisle of several retailers.
“SkinnyPizza, a clean label pizza, represents what every mom wants to feed the family. We are thrilled for this enormous opportunity to finally bring SkinnyPizza to the supermarket chains,” Joseph Vetrano, CEO and founder of SkinnyPizza said. “I always asked why a healthy pizza can't be next to all the leading brands. Why do they need to be in a healthy food section?”
The Roslyn Heights, N.Y.-based brand does not include potassium bromate in its products and focuses on creating pizzas that are both pure and clean, the company said.
Currently, the brand has three products available — mozzarella and provolone cheese, uncured pepperoni and gluten-free cheese — and began rolling out at such retailers as H-E-B and Giant Eagle.
“We only source premium ingredients and pile on the flavor, without packing in the carbs & calories. We use simple ingredients: wheat flour, all-natural part-skim mozzarella, and organic tomatoes,” Vetrano said. “Uncured pepperoni that is nitrite and nitrate free are used for our meats. Our gluten-free cheese pizza is simply the best on market. It has been endorsed by the Celiac Disease Foundation.”
Further information on the brand and its products can be found on the company's website.
“We are also coming out with a great tasting Cauliflower Crust pizza. The rollout for that is the late 4th quarter.” Vetrano said. “The bottom line is that pizza needs to taste great, SkinnyPizza is both great tasting and clean label for all to enjoy!”
