Snack manufacturers slicing chocolate, fruit into their new product innovations

SAN FRANCISCO - During the month of July, brands experimented with chocolate pairings, like Jif’s new Peanut Butter Chocolate Flavored Bars, and branched into new flavor combinations with lemon Oreos and Tootsie Pop-filled popsicles, Instantly Shelf Score reported Wednesday. 


 


Fruit was also a popular summer choice, particularly citrus and berry. A number of the latest Instantly Shelf Score new products feature a variety of fruity flavors, including a berry pomegranate energy bar, a strawberry summer crisp Greek yogurt and a new fruit and seed cereal.


 


Instantly Shelf Score is a monthly ranking of the newest CPG products by consumer purchase intent. Each product is evaluated using Instantly Concept Test, a rapid product concept testing tool that collects consumer feedback on key success indicators such as purchase intent, differentiation, need and value.
