Sun-Maid reformulates yogurt covered raisins

9/9/2019
Sun-Maid is revamping its yogurt covered raisins in a major way.

The Kingsburg, Calif.-based company announced that it has not only reformulated the snack, but it also has become Non-GMO Project Verified.

Part of the reformulation includes an improved taste, a new look and texture, and different flavor combinations, the company said.

"Millennials have a holistic view toward health and we are addressing their needs by developing products that are less processed and have fewer artificial ingredients," Chris Dixon, Sun-Maid's director of marketing of the core raisin portfolio, said. "Our Yogurt Covered Raisins are a great way to keep your sweet tooth at bay, but without the guilt, as they are made with whole fruit."

New flavors include chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel and strawberry and vanilla, which will be promoted via a marketing campaign to drive consumer awareness of the reformulation.

In addition, new packaging and more flavor additions to Sun-Maid’s yogurt covered raisins line will be introduced in January 2020.
