Utz, Synder's of Hanover not merging

HANOVER, Pa. Utz Quality Foods is no longer pursuing a merger with Snyder's of Hanover, according to a local report.

According to The Evening Sun, the companies said in a joint statement that there were mutliple difficulties winning Federal Trade Commission approval.

The two family-owned snack companies, both based in Hanover, Pa., had hoped to complete the deal by the end of the year.
