Vita Coco extends distribution throughout southern California

LOS ANGELES Vita Coco today announced distribution of its beverage line now reaches more than 800 retailers across southern California.

The company also announced that its monthly sales in southern California have increased to 5,000 cases, and more than 20,000 cases per month in New York. The company is stocked by grocers such as Bristol Farms, Gelson’s, Ralph’s and Whole Foods.

“One reason for our success is our partnership with Haralambos Beverage Co.,” Vita Coco’s Michael Kirban said. “They’ve got their ear to the ground and know what health-conscious Californians want to drink. We couldn’t have a better partner these past nine months.”

Vita Coco, a natural coconut water beverage, contains nearly 700 mg of potassium. The company said it also contains about 15 times more electrolytes than most sports drinks. The company has also reported that its best-selling flavor in the southern California market is peach and mango.
