    NEW YORK — As retail-based health clinics increasingly illustrate the important role they plan in today’s U.S. healthcare system, Forbes is gearing up for its second annual Healthcare Summit in New York City Oct. 9 to 10.

    The two-day event, hosted by Steve Forbes at the Lincoln Center, will bring together leaders from a wide spectrum of disciplines in the healthcare industry.

  • CVS/pharmacy, Humana partner on Affordable Care Act consumer education

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. and WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Looking to help Americans better understand their healthcare coverage options under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Humana and CVS/pharmacy announced on Friday a strategic retail partnership.

    Humana representatives will be present at CVS/pharmacy’s Project Health events starting this month. Humana also will hold in-store events at CVS/pharmacy locations to educate individuals and their families about healthcare coverage options under the ACA.

  • CVS Caremark officially announces opening of first MinuteClinic in Hawaii

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark’s MinuteClinic on Thursday officially announced the opening of its first walk-in medical clinic in Hawaii at the Longs Drug store on South King Street in Honolulu near the University of Hawaii, Manoa.

    It is the first of seven MinuteClinic locations to open inside select Longs Drug stores on Oahu in the next two weeks. Additional clinics will serve patients in Aiea, Hawaii Kai, Kailua, Kaneohe, Kapolei and Waialae, the company stated.

  • Former White House adviser Nancy-Ann DeParle elected to CVS Caremark's board

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark’s board of directors has elected former White House adviser Nancy-Ann DeParle to serve on its board, the company stated in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

    DeParle will be an independent director and will serve on the board’s audit committee, according to the filing.

  • MinuteClinic to open inside seven Longs' stores in Hawaii

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark’s MinuteClinic is preparing to open health clinics inside seven Longs Drugs locations in Hawaii, according to local news reports.

    The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported that the first MinuteClinic in Hawaii will open at the Moiliili store in Honolulu. On Sept. 30, locations in Kahala, Aiea, Kapolei, Hawaii Kai, Kaneohe and Kailua are scheduled to open.
