  • MinuteClinic becomes participating provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — MinuteClinic announced on Thursday that it has become a contracted provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, which provides health insurance products, services or networks to 1.2 million individuals.
     
    Under the agreement, these individuals now will have access to 16 MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinics located inside select CVS/pharmacy stores in communities throughout the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas.

  • Former Mercer executive named president of CVS Caremark's Accordant business

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark has appointed Kevin Murphy president for Accordant Health Services, a CVS Caremark company that provides disease management and case management services for people with rare chronic conditions.

    Murphy is in charge of integrating the company's leading rare disease management programs with its specialty pharmacy programs and new focus on medical pharmacy management.

  • Dream Water expands distribution to CVS/pharmacy

    MIAMI — Dream Water once again has expanded its retail distribution through a nationwide retail alliance with CVS/pharmacy.

    With this move, Dream Water now is available in more than 20,000 points of sale nationwide. The product also is available in such stores as Duane Reade, Kmart, Harmon, Walmart and Walgreens.

    At least that’s largely the thinking behind the new “Guy Aisle” prototype that Procter & Gamble created within a CVS/pharmacy store in Charlotte, N.C.

    Unveiled in September, the new CVS/pharmacy men’s grooming section features products specifically designed for him, including Gillette, Old Spice and Head & Shoulders.

    “Men are buyers, not shoppers,” stated Michael Norton, director of external relations for male grooming at Gillette, which is owned by P&G.
