Del Monte Foods expands popping boba snack line

Del Monte Foods’ popping boba snack line is getting a whole lot bigger.

The Walnut Creek, Calif.-based company is adding a brand-new flavor to the mix — tropical mixed fruit bubble fruit.

Containing chunks of real fruit with popping boba, the new addition joins the brand’s three previously released varieties, which include peach strawberry lemonade, pear berry pomegranate and sour apple watermelon.

“We want to provide all kids a fun snacking experience without compromising taste or nutrition, wherever they may be starting this school year. To achieve this, we've been working on expanding our portfolio of products to add convenient, unique options for kids and the entire family to enjoy. Providing a fun snacking experience for kids and adults of all ages is our goal,” Liam Farrell, vice president of brand marketing for Del Monte Foods said. “With this new flavor of Bubble Fruit, we look forward to meeting the needs of today's consumers who desire new tastes and textures to take their snacking to the next level.”

Featuring just 60 calories, the tropical mixed fruit bubble fruit is made without the use of artificial colors or sweeteners and contains 0 g of fat, the company said.

Shoppers can find the new release at selected retailers including Safeway, Target, Publix and Stop & Shop among others.
