DiGiorno adds flaky croissant to its pizza crust


DiGiornio is adding an extra dose of flakiness to its crust.

New to the Solon, Ohio-based company’s product lineup is the Croissant Pizza Crust, which combines layers of a flaky, buttery crust with the savory taste of pizza.

Available in three options — pepperoni, four cheese and three meat — the mashup is topped with 100% real cheese, the company said.

“Food mashups continue to drive culinary creativity and inspire a fun connection for people,” Megan Smargiasso, the DiGiorno brand manager at Nestlé said. “We're excited about adding DiGiorno Croissant Crust Pizza to the list of unexpected food trends, especially as people spend more time eating at home right now and want true comfort food.”

Pizza lovers can find DiGiorno’s Croissant Crust Pizza in the frozen food aisle of such retailers as Target, Food Lion, Hannaford, Hy-Vee and Publix where it retails from $6.49 to $7.40.
