Dollar General has expanded its store presence to 47 states with its latest location.
The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based company recently announced the opening of its first store in the state of Idaho, which brings its footprint to 47 states total.

Located at 30601 N. Old Highway 95 in Athol, Idaho, the store aims to provide residents of Kootenai county with affordable access to household essentials at everyday low prices, the company said.
“It’s with great excitement that we open our first store and bring our mission of serving others to Idaho,” Jeff Owen, chief operating officer, said. “At Dollar General, we are committed to being a good corporate citizen in each community we call home, including helping our customers to stretch their budgets, providing our employees with opportunities to develop their careers and donating to local charities through our Dollar General Literacy Foundation.”

To commemorate the store’s opening, the retailer gave the first 100 adult shoppers a complimentary gift card and tote bag.
In addition, the company extended its mission by donating $10,000 and 100 new books to Athol Elementary school during the grand opening celebration.

Customers can find the Athol store’s operating hours online or by visiting the Dollar General app, the company said.
