Edy’s, Dreyer’s ice cream unveils Rocky Road-inspired collection
There’s a new, sweeter way to enjoy ice cream from the Edy’s — if you’re east of the Rockies — or Dreyer’s — if you’re west of the Rockies — brand.
The Oakland, Calif.-based company has launched its new Rocky Road collection, which contains six new flavors and rolling out in time for the brand’s 100th birthday.
Created in tribute to the original rocky road flavor, created by founders William Dreyer and Joseph Edy, the new launches feature a new twist on the beloved flavor, the company said.
“Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream was founded by William Dreyer and Joseph Edy in 1928 with the mission to spread smiles and provide delicious ice cream that the whole family could enjoy together,” Julianne Feder, senior associate brand manager at Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream said. “And that mission remains the same, if not more relevant today. The new Rocky Road collection is designed to send ice cream lovers on a treasure hunt of indulgent mix-ins, full of flavor, decadence and texture. It’s indulgence that the whole family can enjoy!”
Featuring chunks of cookie dough, chocolate-covered toffee and peanut butter, new flavors include:
- The Original Rocky Road, which contains almonds and bite-sized chewy marshmallows folded into chocolate ice cream;
- Mocha Almond Avenue, which features swirls of fudge, almonds and mocha ice cream;
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Park, which has blended peanut butter into chocolate ice cream and also contains chocolate peanut butter cups;
- Salted Caramel Pretzel Path, which contains salted caramel ice cream, swirls of fudge, chocolate covered toffee and chocolate-covered salted pretzels;
- Brownie Brick Road, which features a gooey brownie center; and
- Cookie Cobblestone, which has chocolate sandwich cookies, swirls of marshmallows, chunks of cookie dough and chocolate ice cream.
Each of the six new Edy’s, Dreyer’s Rocky Road collection flavors are now available in the ice cream aisle of retailers nationwide.
