  • Costco sales up 3% to $9 billion for April

    ISSAQUAH, Wash. - Costco on Wednesday reported net sales of $9 billion for the month of April, the four weeks ended May 1, 2016, an increase of 3% as compared to the similar period last year.
     
  • Health Mart fields more than 4,600 independents on 19% membership growth

    SAN FRANCISCO – McKesson on Wednesday reported that revenues for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2016 totaled $46.7 billion, up 4%. Fourth-quarter earnings per diluted share from continuing operations was $1.97 compared to $1.69 a year ago. Fourth-quarter Adjusted Earnings per diluted share was $2.44, down 17% compared to the prior year.
     
  • Same-stores Q1 sales up 6.3% across Shoppers Drug Mart

    BRAMPTON, Ontario - Loblaw Companies on Wednesday posted $8.1 billion, an increase of 3.3%, for its first quarter ended March 26, 2016. Retail segment sales were $7.9 billion. 
     
    Drug retail (Shoppers Drug Mart) same-store sales growth was 6.3%, with same-store pharmacy sales increasing by 4.2% and same-store front store sales increasing by 8.2%. The timing of Easter had a positive impact on front store same-store sales of approximately 1.9%.
     
  • Q1 comp sales up 3.3% across Publix

    LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix’s sales for the first quarter of 2016 totaled $8.7 billion, the grocer reported Monday, a 4.5% increase from the same period last year. Comparable-store sales for the first quarter of 2016 increased 3.3%. The company estimates sales increased 1.2% due to the effect of the Easter holiday being in the first quarter of 2016. 
     
  • CVS Health reaches Q1 net revenue of $43.2 billion on 18.9% growth

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. - On Tuesday, CVS Health reported a first quarter net revenue increase of 18.9% to $43.2 billion for the three months ended March 31. Revenues in the Pharmacy Services Segment increased 20.5% to $28.8 billion, primarily driven by increase in prescription volume and growth in specialty pharmacy. 
     
  • Weis Markets Q1 sales up 3.6%

    SUNBURY, Pa. - Weis Markets on Monday reported sales increases of 3.6% to $738.2 million for the 13 weeks ended March 26. Same-store sales were up 3.6%. 
     
  • Diplomat to acquire TNH Advanced Specialty Pharmacy

    FLINT, Mich. — Diplomat Pharmacy on Thursday announced the planned acquisition of Valley Campus Pharmacy, which does business as TNH Advanced Specialty Pharmacy (TNH). The deal will see the nation’s largest independent specialty pharmacy acquiring the seven-year-old oncology-focused company for $75 million, a mixture of cash and about 328,000 shares of Diplomat stock. 
     
  • Cardinal Health posts 22% increase in Q3 revenue to $30.7 billion

    DUBLIN, Ohio - Cardinal Health on Thursday reported a 21% increase in revenue to $30.7 billion for its third quarter for the fiscal year 2016.
