  • Weis recognized for firing up recycling

    SUNBURY, Pa. — The Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania recently recognized Weis Markets for its commitment to recycling and its innovative program to recycle waxed cardboard used to ship and store fresh vegetables and meats, the grocer announced Monday.

    In 2010, Weis Markets teamed up with Envirolog to recycle its waxed cardboard and produce Envirolog fireplace logs, which are sold in Weis Markets stores.  Typically, supermarkets send most of their waxed cardboard to landfills since it is difficult to recycle.

  • Ahh Bra makes debut in Walgreens

  • TCC enters global licensing deal with Rovio for Angry Birds franchise

    WESTPORT, Conn. — TCC has been granted a global license for retail loyalty promotions to Rovio's Angry Birds franchise, TCC recently announced.

    The multi-year agreement provides TCC with worldwide rights to the Angry Birds franchise in a wide range of distribution channels, including supermarkets and hypermarkets, drug stores, health and beauty chains, newspaper and newspaper kiosks, fuel chains and convenience stores.

    The deal was brokered by TCC USA's VP marketing and licensing Nicole Piper.

  • CDMA to host a product showcase for members in Philly

    NOVI, Mich. — The Chain Drug Marketing Association recently announced that the debut of its “Make More Money Table Top Show” will take place in Philadelphia from Sept. 23 to 24. The show will provide CDMA-member regional drug chains, regional drug wholesalers and independent pharmacies an opportunity to preview table-top displays of CDMA's hot items, with items from various categories, including seasonal, health-and-beauty and soft goods, among others. 

  • Kerr launches school supply donation campaign

    RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is marking the back-to-school season with a school supply donation campaign through the Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation, the regional retail pharmacy chain said Friday.

    On Thursday, each Kerr store set up a bin to collect donations of new school supplies, ranging from paper and pens to notebooks and backpacks. Supplies will be collected until Sept. 15 and will be donated to local charities.
