The new-look Duane Reade stores feature a special Papyrus section in the greeting card aisle. Papyrus — known for its posh collection of greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery and other unique gift products — certainly has lent an air of distinction to the department with its upscale fixtures and sleek design.


    Cards for all occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, are merchandised attractively in the more than 8 ft. of space devoted to the section.

    American Greetings’ new Ready Set Blow greeting card line offers all the fun of blowing out the candles and making a wish.


    The cards deliver a multisensory experience with the recipient prompted to blow on the card upon opening it. A special sensor is then activated, making the festive scene come to life with LED lights, as well as either a birthday song or sound.


    The line of six designs began shipping to all channels of distribution in mid-March and retails for $6.99.

  • Sergeant's introduces generic flea, tick treatments

    OMAHA, Neb. — Sergeant's Pet Care Products will be launching generic versions of popular flea and tick topical treatments next month.

    The company said that its generic versions of Frontline Plus, FiproGuard Plus and Pronyl OTC Plus will hit retail in May, providing pet owners with a lower-cost option to keep pets healthy.

  • Three classic action films arrive on Blu-ray

    LOS ANGELES — Three action-packed films are making their Blu-ray debut.

    20th Century Fox Home Entertainment said that "The Hustler," "The Comancheros" and "Tigerland" will be available next month. Additionally, "The Hustler" and "The Comancheros" both celebrate their 50th anniversary and will feature special Blu-ray book packaging, including rare photos from the Fox archives and brand new special features.

  • Lysol offers tips, tools to control allergens this spring

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Lysol, a Reckitt Benckiser brand, is looking to help allergy sufferers this spring.

    The brand announced that it has tapped pediatrician and author Laura Jana, as well as Lysol microbiologist Joe Rubino, to help identify allergen triggers and ways to avoid them. The two star in Lysol's "Allergy-Proofing Your Home" video series, which can be viewed here.
